After 18 months of treatment and little progress, Nordhoff attended a healing service at her sister’s church, Resurrection Life, near Grand Rapids, Mich. Nine years ago the singer/songwriter, wife and mother was diagnosed with advanced-stage Lyme disease resulting from a tick bite. “Your Great Name” was inspired by Nordhoff’s testimony of God’s faithfulness in her own life. “I am completely blown away by the way God has taken this song and breathed His life and favor over it to encourage other believers and glorify the great name of Jesus-our Healer, Redeemer and King,” says Krissy Nordhoff, who wrote the song with Michael Neale. “Your Great Name,” a song that praises the healing power of God, nabbed Worship Song of the Year at the 43rd Annual GMA Dove Awards. Jesus speaks to her and tells her that her faith healed her.įather God, You, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are worthy of our praise, and we praise You and thank You for Your love, mercy, and grace. One of my favorite Bible stories is about a woman who was considered unclean for bleeding, yet, she has the faith to go to town and touch the robe of Jesus. Because of Jesus, we are declared righteous–we receive mercy and grace in our times of need. None of us are worthy to touch Jesus, yet because of Jesus, we are worthy. One is declaring God’s worthiness, and the other is looking at worthiness. KJV.īeloved, we see two ways to use the word worthy. “And he preached, saying, “There comes One after me who is mightier than I, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to stoop down and loose.” Mark 1:7. “saying with a loud voice: “ Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!” Revelation 5:12. In addition to the verse in Psalm, read with me in Revelation, Great is our God, great is our Jesus, and greater yet is the Holy Spirit. Only God and Jesus are worthy of our praise. “Worthy, worthy, worthy is the lamb.” These words reverberate in my mind when I think of the verse in Revelation. Jesus is the most notable person I know He is worthy of all our love and praise. Defining worthy is having or showing the qualities or abilities that merit recognition in a specified way or as a noun–a person notable or essential in a particular sphere. ![]() Do you struggle with being worthy of someone’s love?
